I’m leaving tumblr for a few weeks? I don’t even know why I feel like I have to tell you, except that I like it here, but I’m going to be traveling. Specifically, I’m going to India, and I need to be there alone, without tumblr.
I’m sitting here at 3am, tooling around on the intranet, having deep thoughts about Pulp Fiction. Here are my thoughts: I don’t think I get it or even like it most of the time, but John Travolta and Uma Thurman are literally mesmerizing together. I am like, not into Tarantino, though I did like Reservoir Dogs (and nothing else since). And yet. Something is here, in this scene. The undefinable thing.
I made a very long playlist and packed a notebook. I am off to look for the undefinable thing.
It was on Oxygen, I literally have no excuse. Viggo Mortenson is in it though!
Wrapped things up well, but very inconsistent. No one cares about Rachel/Finn, come on. And why were all the new characters completely flat? I don’t understand how they could manage to screw up something that seemed very foolproof, but I don’t understand why I keep watching Glee, either.

Reporter: I have a question to Robert and to Scarlett. Firstly to Robert, throughout Iron Man 1 and 2, Tony Stark started off as a very egotistical character but learns how to fight as a team. And so how did you approach this role, bearing in mind that kind of maturity as a human being when it comes to the Tony Stark character, and did you learn anything throughout the three movies that you made?
And to Scarlett, to get into shape for Black Widow did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet, like did you have to eat any specific food, or that sort of thing?
Scarlett: How come you get the really interesting existential question, and I get the like, “rabbit food” question?
The respect given to you if you’re a man in the entertainment business, and the respect given to you if you’re a woman in the entertainment business: all perfectly summed up in one idiotically thought out line of questioning.

2. Basic Lupine Urology
3. Digital Estate Planning
I’m not sure if I like watching Community week-to-week. I absolutely loved the show when I was watching six episodes in a row on my bed with dinner. But I don’t think it holds up as well week-to-week, intercut with commercials and with 30 Rock bumpers in each direction. Community requires sustained attention, and you begin to see why sitcom conventions exist: It’s hard to watch a 22-minute episode without the structure those conventions provide.
This has been an especially fervent debate as Community faces a shortened third season and the loss of their genius creator Dan Harmon. What can you do? TV is changing, but the people up top haven’t figured that out yet. In the meantime, we got two awesome seasons and a third pretty good one. I’m cool with that for now.
Yeah, this wasn’t my favorite season, although I think “Remedial Chaos Theory” might be the pinnacle of the show, everything it tried to accomplish and succeeded at and cared about all in one episode. For one thing, Britta stopped evolving, and she was really awesome before. (“Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts” holds a special place in my heart for Jeff and Britta’s drunken almost-wedding.) But for every episode where I left scratching my head, there was a moment of such sheer joy at what the show had accomplished that I just didn’t care, I didn’t care at all that it was all over the place. Community tried every single episode to do something incredible. Who else can say that?
*tears hair out* I knew exactly what was going to happen and I’m still soooo upsettt
There’s a famous tweet by _why:
when you don’t create things, you become defined by your tastes rather than ability. your tastes only narrow & exclude people. so create.

My special project!
This is a commission for a friend. Though I think it’s becoming obvious what it is (even at this stage), can you guess? If you’re interested, I will sell the pattern for $3, or a finished piece for $25.
